As far as I can tell it is the same bag as the non-bliss version, minus a few extras like the zippered pocket at the bottom, a wipes holder, and a zippered pocket on the exterior under the flap. (Although the bliss does have an easily accessible pocket near the flap.) While these extras would be nice, I don't consider them essential to the function of this bag.
This bag works great for me. I have a very wiggly two-year-old who occasionally insists that I pick her up and carry her everywhere. I use the Kemby Sidekick Bliss as my regular bag, and when she wants to be carried, I convert it to a carrier and there it is!
Pros:
-YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR CARRIER WITH YOU and you don't have to look like a dork with another carrier on your body or around your waist while your kid runs around
-nice compact diaper bag (good for daily errands, will not fit everything you need for a long flight)
-materials and construction are high quality
-nice placement of pockets
-relatively easy to take baby in and out
-wearing the bag around the waist makes it even faster to convert to a carrier
Cons:
-while not difficult to convert it from a bag to a carrier, it is not instantaneous
-like all side carriers, it hurts the back after a while because the weight distribution is uneven
-side pockets, while convenient, could be larger... sippy cups sometimes slip up and out
-I have a hard time putting the straps back in neatly so the carrier flap doesn't look lumpy... (this is minor)
-Can't access the back pocket (magazine size) while baby is in the carrier (also minor)
-Changing pad buried underneath contents of bag. (I don't change a lot of diapers on the go, but if I did I think I would find this annoying.)
I own an Ergo Baby which I have used with my daughters in every mode possible: front, side, back carry. I still put the Ergo on in back-pack mode if we are going for a long walk or a hike, and I anticipate carrying her for more than 30 consecutive minutes. But for everything else, this bag rules, as it is the only thing I need to leave the house on everyday trips.
